We are so proud to announce the launch of the NextGen Ambassadors Council (NGAC), a new initiative designed to empower local high school juniors and seniors through leadership development, financial literacy, and active engagement with credit union and community leaders.

We are launching the NGAC in hopes of connecting with Juniors and Seniors at local high schools. By participating in this program, they will not only leave with lessons that are invaluable in their next chapters of life (think Financial Literacy: how to buy a car, how to take out a loan, how to purchase your first home), along with career lectures from local community and DFCU leaders that can help provide them insight into their careers and leadership opportunities! At the end of the program, they will leave us with letters of recommendation from our management team at DFCU and connections into the local community.

Who? 

Juniors and Seniors can apply for this program beginning in May. There will be an application process that each student will have to complete. Teachers and Guidance Counselors can nominate students that they feel are a great fit (with letters of recommendation).

What?

This program is 4 sessions per school year, making it 8 sessions total. It will dive into financial literacy, the ins and outs of a financial institution, community engagement, lectures by local leaders in the community, community volunteer opportunities, credit union resources, direct access to our management team at DFCU and career development. At the meetings, catering for students attending will be provided, along with opportunities to network.

Why?

We are extremely passionate about providing resources for students. We want this to be engaging conversations and learning opportunities so that then students graduate they are prepared for their next chapter in life.

Where?

Students that are in the program will attend the courses at the DFCU Operations Center in Plattsburgh.
