As part of our commitment to helping young members pursue higher education, Dannemora Federal Credit Union offers an annual scholarship program in partnership with the New York Credit Union Association (NYCUA). If you're a graduating high school senior planning to attend college, you may be eligible for scholarship opportunities—right here in your community.

By submitting one application, you’ll be considered for both DFCU’s scholarships and the statewide NYCUA awards.

Who Can Apply
To be eligible, applicants must:

Be a graduating high school senior

Plan to attend an accredited college or university in the upcoming academic year

Be a member of DFCU, or have a parent/guardian who is a member, by the application deadline

Submit all required documents by the posted deadline

Request Your Application Packet

Complete the Application Form
Follow all instructions provided. Only the designated fields will be reviewed—no resumes, photos, or additional attachments allowed. -
Prepare Your Required Documents
You’ll need to upload the following as separate files:-
Your completed application

A transcript showing grades from 9th through 11th grade

Your essay response
-
The signed Certification & Release form (applicant and parent/guardian signatures required)

Submit Everything Online
Submit your materials as instructed—no physical mailings or in-person drop-offs will be accepted. -
Mark the Deadline
All materials must be submitted by the application deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Important Details:
You must be a member of Dannemora Federal Credit Union to apply to the NYCUA college scholarship program. If you are not currently a member, please visit DFCU Accounts page to open one today.
- Click on Get Started to get a copy of the application, instructions and the code credit union code to submit emailed to you.
- Complete and save the scholarship application form. Please use only the space provided on the form to answer the questions. Other than where specified on the application form, no attachments, resumes, pictures or other materials of any kind should be submitted or used to answer the questions.
- You and your parent or guardian must sign the Certification and Release Authorization on the back page of the application form.
- You must obtain a credit union verification code from your credit union in order to verify eligibility. This is obtain by completing clicking on Get Started. A detailed email will be sent from DFCU team.
- You will then submit your application online at: DFCU-NYCUA Application Submission
by January 9th 2026; 3pm, along with:

a high school transcript documenting your GPA for grades 9-11; and
-
an essay response.
- "Nominated by" section can be an parent or mentor.

If any portion is incomplete or not included, the application will not be considered by NYCUA.
